Level 0:

No perceptible corruption.
Performative everything; very charming/facile/lighthearted/easy-going... at the surface, and about two millimeters deep.
Underneath that, there's essentially nothing but ash; somewhere, very deep down inside, there's a hollow space in the shape of a person. Kind of like at Pompeii.

Level 1:

In other words, he's just a little bit... Off. Tendency to get distracted by physical sensations; simple things like textures (the embroidery on a cuff, for example, or the roughness of a scarred area on a table, etc), but also more complicated sensations (fluid dynamics, kinesthetic awareness of exertion of any kind, yes including sexual, pain/injuries, etc).

Level 2:

Atypical emotional affect.
Could seem as ashen/hollow/wooden as he actually is inside, per Level Zero, in situations where he would ordinarily be performing Appropriate Emotional Responses.
... Could also be incredibly labile, ping-ponging between emotional extremes with little or no warning or prompting.

Level 3a: Malice & Vengeance; Hot Lava, Hot Ash

Level 3b: "Kill them all, and let God sort them out"; Cold Ash

Beasthood B, following 3b: Haunting; starvation-with-fear; anyone who Has must be Yearned For but also Avoided (more likely to be found hidden away in the forest, rather than embarking on a rampage)
